Our internal programming started before birth. It is therefore not a surprise that we fall into habits and repeat them over and over again.
Most of these internal “algorithms” are so engrained, we’ve committed the recipes to heart. We have the way we respond to criticism, we have the way we show up in relationships, we have the way we approach work.
If everything is exactly as you want it to be, there’s no reason to change the algorithm. However most people come to discover their day-to-day operating algorithms are outdated. Justifying why we made the choices we made, doesn’t block the sting of receiving criticism just ask asking the same questions on dates doesn’t help you find a different type of person than your ex. If we want our situation to change, we must adapt our underlying algorithm, and the main ingredient is…us.
