Power is not a commodity. Therefore there’s nothing to give away. When we say we have “given away our power”, we are really covering a deeper feeling (fear, hurt, anger, sadness, would all be viable candidates).
Power, by definition, is the capacity to influence or the ability to do work. In other words, it is pure potential. We all are capable of influencing. We all are able to do work. We are pure potential. Therefore power isn’t a thing you have, it’s something you are.
By this definition, to manifest power, you become more you. We become more of ourselves by getting in touch with all of who we already are – all of our fears, all of our joys, all of our hungers, all of our hurts, every piece that makes us, us. That’s our power and it’s a power that cannot be given away or taken away, because no matter how we feel, we are power.
