If you are waiting to “be empowered” to lead, take on more responsibility, start a new challenge, or change how something is run, then you will probably wait for forever.
The problem with waiting to “be empowered” is that it leaves the decision in the hands of someone else, someone who is looking at the world through their lens, not yours.
The reality is that power is not something that is given to you, at least not real power. So if you are serious about changing how something works, you don’t need to wait to be asked, you can lead from exactly where you are.
