no heroes

The problem with heroes is that they often are filling gaps—gaps in processes, gaps in leadership, gaps in productivity. There’s a short term satisfaction that comes with being the hero. But if we are interested in actually changing how things operate, the biggest heroic feat would be to let people see the gaps (and the larger issues underneath).

This requires recognizing when our desire to be the rescuer and treat gaps as victims that need to be saved. It also requires believing that with the right support, everyone can develop the tools they need (which makes heroes obsolete).
